Hi my name's Sophia Drumm, and I'm a photographer in Prescott, Arizona.
I've been shooting photos as long as I can remember, but got more serious when my Dad gave me his camera. This camera was special. It was the camera he used as a professional photographer, and he gave it to me. That is what started my love.
As I was learning my camera, the parts to it, and the rules (it's actually quite complex), I began taking photos around the house. My first photographic victims were our dog, our chickens, and our massive elm tree, all while taking classes with the best teacher on earth: my Dad!
Then the day came: for my first shoot I did baby photos for a friend. The family loved the photos and I realized how much I loved capturing priceless memories. I loved interacting with the family, I loved editing the photos digitally, and I especially loved delivering to them the pictures of their loved ones. The more opportunities I got, the more I fell in love with the wonders of photography, and the more other people saw my work, the more invitations I got to do it more often.
The thing that amazes me the most about photography is how much it means to families and couples to see their special memories captured. Photos are more than just pictures: they're memories that still call to mind that special day. You can see the people that were there and the laughter that was shared every time you look at them.
